To be honest, I've always looked down on it, I have no idea why.
Until my friend introduced me to this random anime he was currently watching and I was hooked.
The series is called Nagi No Asukara which is basically a romantic comedy drama sorta thing. In english it means, A Lull in the Sea. It's basically about a group of friends who live in the sea, but is forced to go to school on the surface and struggle to fit in with the 'surface people'. The reason I absolutely love this series is the unsuspecting plot twists that thicken the plot to the extreme. I shouldn't spoil it too much, and since I haven't finished the 26 part series, I'll only share a little bit of detail.

| Hikari Sakishima Hikari is deep in love with Manaka but often yells at her mistakes because of his short temper |

| Manaka Mukaido Manaka is very dependent on her friends but during the series, learns to be independent. She also shows feelings for Hikari while harbouring a crush on a surface boy. |

| Chisaki Hiradaira Chisaki has feelings for Hikari but doesn't want to admit it since she knows Hikari is in love with Manaka. However later in the series, she develops further feelings for someone else. |

| Kaname Isaki Kaname is quiet and very mature for his age. He cares very deeply for Chisaki but has to learn to move on after he learns she isn't interested. |

| Tsumugu Kihara Tsumugu is a surface person who has a deep interest in the sea. She first met Manaka by reeling her in one day on his grandfathers fishing boat. |
As you can tell so far, a major theme in this series is love and a little fantasy. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who has a soft spot for love triangles and anime!
