My holidays! Series kinda thingy

Ohai dere dood!

So right now I'm sitting in a common room typing this up to let you know that I will be making a tiny series of my time right now on holiday. Since I don't have all my equipment, I can't start posting them now but I will get up to it soon, when I get back I PROMISE!!!!

I won't tell you just yet where I am at the moment but I will tell you now that it is filled with sandflies and bees.

Apart from that, this place is AMAZING!

Hey guys! 

I just wanted to let you know that Christmas is one of my most favourite times of the year…

Why? Because during this season, everything is so beautiful and calm.

Yes, everyones excited and busy shopping for presents, but theres always this peace and love that lingers in the air, as the day creeps closer and closer. Houses get filled with tacky ornaments that represents christmas perfectly. Christmas music blares through the streets. In class, kids make mini christmas cards for their mums and dads.

The thing is, my family don't celebrate christmas because of our religion, but the christmas feel is so contagious and strong that I'm still excited for Christmas day even though there won't be a presents under a christmas tree for me. 

Christmas for me is about loving, caring, and most of all family time in the lounge watching cheesy Christmas movies.

So the difference between me and the regular 14 year old girl in New Zealand is that the only reason I love Christmas, is because of the vibe it gives off to everyone.

Also the christmas cards people give out in class, attached to red and white candy canes which also doubles as a dangerous weapon if you make it pointy enough :P

Tips & tricks | HAIR!

At the start of intermediate, I had reasonably long hair. But one thing I absolutely hated was tying up my hair. So after long hard thinking I decided to cut my hair into a bob. BIG MISTAKE.
When I came back from the hair dressers I cried and cried and cried and cried. It was nonstop. Since my hair is very unpredictable I had to straighten it every single day to keep it straight. Another BIG MISTAKE. My hair is now sandpapery and now I never ever EEVVERRR use heat on my hair. Ever since the middle of my second year of intermediate I have been trying SO HARD to grow out my hair and at the same time regain the moisture I had lost from all the heat.

My target length

• Use a brush with natural boar bristles. I know they might be a bit pricey but it's definitely worth it. Boar bristles are similar to our hair. It is able to actually hold in all your hairs moisture and lift out the dirt. It distributes the oils evenly from your scalp throughout your hair to the tip. 
• Do not under any circumstances brush with a normal brush, tie up, or plait with wet hair. Wet hair is extremely vulnerable and can easily break causing severe damage.
• EAT HEALTHILY! Eat lots of fruit, veges, eggs, meat. It really helps the growth of your hair.
• Avoid heat such as straightners, curlers, hair dryers and also chemical stuff that have no benefit to your hair. Think natural.
• If you plait your hair at night, it helps your hair grow.

Tips and tricks | Youtube

Well. I think this is gonna be a LONG post.

Youtube is practically my life. The first proper youtuber I watched was a guy named fred. Yep, its FRED GOES SWIMMING! :) Ahahahaha those were the days. Those were the times where I thought anything was funny. But I think nowerdays I'm more critical with what I watch. I'm pretty sure my sense of humour has COMPLETELY changed.

There are a lot of pros with youtube I could list them, but that they would take all night. Instead, here are a couple of tips you will need before entering the wonderful world of youtube

• Don’t stay up all night watching videos, the next day you are going to absolutely hate yourself the next day. And then later that night, you’ll completely forget about what happened the night before and just do the exact same thing as you did before
• Whenever you feel you might have entered the ‘weird’ part of youtube. GET OUT! Save yourself! It is the most horrible place in the world. All youtube videos always end up on how to be a mermaid, or werewolf, so just get back to the home page! You’ll regret it and your eyes will die.
• Don’t willy nilly subscribe to channels or else you’ll find your home page FILLED with random crap that you don’t give a damn about
• You will most likely come across the biggest idiots in the comment section but DO NOT FREAK! They’re either the hater or the most common stupid dumb people who don’t know anything. Just don’t blow too frequently or else you will use up all your comebacks on them instead of your actual enemies. Trust me, I’ve been in heaps of fights and they didn’t really turn out that well. So just chill, and enjoy the video
• When you are doing your homework, YouTube is a huge distraction, just stop and think about the future and think, what do i want to say in the future? Either “Would you like fries with that?” or “Hey! You? from high school? Hows it going? I just cured cancer” Just think about it before you get to those cat videos.
• I’ve always been too scared to upload anything onto YouTube from all the haters but don’t be afraid to upload something. You never know? You might end up being the new smosh. But just remember, once it goes on, theres no going back. Its going to be permanently printed onto the web. So just don’t regret anything
• Whenever you are on your favourite youtubers site, don’t forget to click like, comment, and subscribe because it really helps them out and keeps the videos coming
• Alway check out for fake videos and i don’t know if rick rolling is still in but keep an eye out for those people who try to mess with your head

Reviews | The Hunger Games trilogy!

Hey guys and gals,

I think it is time for a book/movie review.
BAAAMMM BBAAAAAM BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM

So I first read The Hunger Games last year. I read it kind of late because I generally don't read, but all my friends were begging me to read the series, so i reluctantly agreed thinking this was just gonna be like another twilight… Boy was I wrong.
I read The Hunger Games in one night. I stayed up till 3 o'clock just to finish the first book. And the next day I went to the library and nearly died when I found out there was a huge queue on the next two books. So then I actually went to the bookshop and did not leave until I had finished the book. It was incredible. I did the same with Mockingjay in the weekend, and that is how I got my obsession with The Hunger Games.

At my old school, I was the weirdo who loved the hunger games. It was quite sad that no one shared the same obsession of The Hunger Games…
HOWEVER…
I moved to Dunedin and at my Highschool I found Ruby… a.k.a. readaboutroobsta.blogspot.com, and she LOOOVVVVEEESSS THE HUNGER GAMES.
So we fangirled together until the legendary CATCHING FIRE MOVIE!

But I HAVE to rage about something…
And it is Mockingjay…
At the end of Mockingjay, I felt that Suzanne had a deadline to meet, and she couldn't really write what she wanted so she had to rush the ending.
But one thing I can never forgive her for doing is killing of one of the most important characters not only in the series, but in the entire world… FINNICK ODAIR!
How dare she!!!!!!!
HOW COULD SHE????!!!!????
She betrayed my heart D:
She broke it…
Into tiny little pieces.

Random posties | School examinations :/

It's that time of year again.
Late nights…Early mornings…
Studying.
D:
Since I'm only in year 9 (freshman) I don't have to do the NCEA stuff that actually count, but school exams are still stressful. This year I only have 6 exams instead of 7 since my art teacher decided to NOT give us an exam (Hallelujah)
However the pressure is still on to pass each and every subject.
Usually my normal day would be…
Wake up, breakfast, get ready, make lunches, school time, interval, school, lunch, school, and then home, laptop, the tiniest bit of homework, dinner, t.v then bed time for some reading.
Now just imagine that routine, but instead replace 99% of that with studying.
And trust me, I suck at studying.
I just sit there, write stuff out. Go on quizlet for a while, and then get distracted by my laptop. No one has actually told me HOW to study.
Can anyone teach me?

Random posties | Music is my BABY!

When I was about 6 years old, I took up piano lessons. Unlike my two sisters who gave up very early claiming they were too 'lazy' to continue I carried on until I was year 6. Now that didn't come very easily. Even though I enjoyed playing piano when I ACTUALLY practiced, I still shed many buckets of tears while my mum encouraged me to practice piano. My 6 year old self at that time was OBSESSED with poptropica, so she had to literally drag me out of the computer chair and into the piano seat. My piano teacher said I had potential because I have quite long fingers. However, I was getting bored of piano so I moved on to the cello. We sold my piano but I still have my keyboard in my room to tinkle tonk on.
Music is a huge part of  my life. It is simply impossible for me to walk to school without music in my head.
My music taste is quite vague.
I mean, I like all types. Bastille, Imagine Dragons, One Direction, Lorde, 5Sos, I JUST LOVE IT ALL!!!

If you haven't guessed, I live in New Zealand. And if you didn't know, the seasons here are very extreme. In winter, when I sleep I have to wear 3 duvets, a million merino blankets and two cats, just so I don't get hypothermia. So you could imagine the joy I would feel when the flowers start blooming again.
But when they do, it is AMAZING
Trust me, New Zealand is the No. 1 place to be in during spring/summer. However, in my city/town, the weather is like...

Rant | 5 Seconds of Summer

I think we have gone deep enough in our relationship for me to reveal my fangirling side.

So basically, 5Sos is like one of the most important things in my life apart from food.

Some people ask me, who’s my favourite? I usually go through this whole process of Ashton, Luke, Calum, Mike, then back to Ashton, then Calum and so forth. The reason being that they all are just so amazing its extremely hard to choose. It’s exactly the same when people ask me for my favourite song. It is physically and mentally impossible. IMPOSSIBRU

Sorry… Just had to.

But what really bothers me is this…

Don’t get me wrong, I am a FAITHFUL directioner and I love One Direction as well… However.

DIRECTIONERS ARE CRAZY!

I said it.

Don’t hit me.

But have you even read their comments on Youtube, Twitter, Tumblr and so on. They end up saying the most unbelievable and untrue things to prove a point. Whether it is, if they’re gay (which they aren’t), or if they’ve got bad music ( which they don’t), Or even if Zayns a terrorist (WHICH HE ISN’T, MY NEXT POST WILL BE ABOUT THIS ;-;). The thing is directioners insult everything just to prove their right, and we’re wrong.

I blame this on hormones.

Evil little devils.

Btw, I know I’m being extremely hypocritical about this.

Back to my point. The thing that I HATE, EXTREMELY HATE, is…

DIRECTIONERS SAYING THEY DON’T LIKE 5SOS BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO MUCH LIKE 1D!

I mean, they have no rights at ALL to say that  ;-;

I know I’m being mean, but 5sos worked up to being famous, while One Direction just had fame from the start… sooo.

Yeah. I’m probably gonna lose a couple viewers from this but hey, DATS MEEEE! (Y) ßthat’s a peace sign btw

I have a guilty pleasure...
I know I don't seem the type who is hugely involved in computers but I admit to loving Minecraft with all my heart.
In case you've been living under a rock your whole life, Minecraft is a game that can be played on PC and xbox. What you basically do is build and mine stuff. You can do whatever you want, thats the beauty of it. Your world is under your control.

But trust me, if you start playing, you get addicted. Now when I say addicted, I mean ADDICTED addicted. The type of addicted where you would risk the wrath of the strictest teachers just to finish the rail track you are making. The type where you stay up till ungodly ours, just to finish the town hall you made.
What i'm trying to say is, minecraft is dangerous. I end up watching youtube videos of minecraft buildings all the time. I would've thought it was boring as hell before but now they seem the slightest bit like entertainment.
There are also videos with multi players which I adore. It's sorta hard not to notice the unbelievable chat.

Random Posties | Skateboarding and Longboarding!

For my birthday, I received a longboard cruiser from my mum. I was so excited because I've always wanted to 'roam the streets like a boss'. I started off practicing at the park in front of my house, then soon proceeding to my school and then certain hilly streets. As soon as my friend Ruby heard about me getting a skateboard she wanted to get one as well. She ended up borrowing one from our friend and we practice like crazy after school and in the weekends.

Although I have received many bruises and cuts, skating or longboarding has taught me a lot about balance which I really need a lot of. I recommend skateboarding and longboarding to anyone who is addicted to their laptop, like me. It lets you actually see the outdoors and smell fresh air. You can learn the streets which is handy since I just moved to my new city this year. And most importantly it teaches you how to be social, get fit, and have fun!

Random posties | Fun day in town!

Today I went laser tagging with a couple of friends and it was amazing. Although I came last in both games and mini-golf, I still had mega fun dashing through the freaky corridors earning a couple of heart attacks as I was shot by the enemy. A friend and I then walked into town and decided to hunt the mall for a mockingjay pin from the book series 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins. After failing miserably, we took random pictures here and there. Here are a couple of snapshots of the beautiful city I call home.
